Intermarché Takes over GAD Pig Slaughterhouse
FRANCE - The retailer group Intermarché, through its subsidiary Société Vitréenne d'Abattage (SVA) Jean-Rozé is to take over part of the pig slaughterhouses GAD, which was placed in liquidation in September.

By: GAD employs 820 employees at three sites, the slaughterhouse in Josselin (Morbihan) that is to be taken over by SVA Jean Rosé and two smaller units at Lampaul-Guimiliau.
The new owner is expected to keep 507 of the 755 employees at the slaughterhouse.
About 229 employees will lose their job.
In 2013, GAD has launched a restructuring plan with the closure of its second slaughterhouse at Lampaul-Guimiliau and its sausage factory in Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique), which resulted to 956 job cuts
