Attapulgite is a rare magnesium aluminosilicate mineral with a very high porous surface and water absorption capacity, used for its anti-diarrheal actions in humans and animals.

Geohellas S.A. is exploiting since 2004, the unique attapulgite deposits in Europe located in northern Greece.

Very innovative “particle dynamic treatment” methods applied by Geohellas S.A. are enhancing surface properties of attapulgite for animal feed applications, inducing optimal binding actions on bacterial toxinogenic strains of E. coli and by Clostridium perfringens, protecting on this way animal intestinal epithelium cells and offering a reinforced digestive security and an advanced health status and growth performance.

Attapulgite-based products of Geohellas S.A. are considered as natural alternatives for growth promotion that could substitute medicated digestive enhancers.

Three generations of attapulgite based products – ULTRAFED®, OPTIFY® and SANFED® – are offered by Geohellas S.A. to the animal feeding sector (farms, integrators, and premix or feed producers).

Special attapulgite products with anti-bacterial action, offering a high water and ammonia absorbency are used as bedding materials in animal buildings (AXORB®) to reduce bacterial count and odours.

AGLEV® SI and AGLEV® FT attapulgite-based soil improvers and agricultural carriers will be also presented in EuroTier fair this year.
