The Food Safety Authority has imposed restrictions on the movement of pigs suspected of having MRSA.

"We expect to get answers to the tests in the middle of next week," said Bjorn Rothe Knudtsen, regional director of the Food Safety Authority.

"We are now working to get an overview of the situation, including mapping and contacting herds to take samples."

Monitoring in 2015

In March, the FSA, in cooperation with the National Veterinary Institute, is starting a monitoring program for LA-MRSA in pigs in Norway.
