Ontario Reports Two New PED Outbreaks
CANADA - Ontario has reported two new outbreaks of porcine epidemic diarrhoea (PED) last week.The latest outbreaks were confirmed on 5 February at a farrow-to-wean unit in Norfolk country and at a finisher unit in Perth country the following day, according to Ontario Pork.
This brings the total number of PED outbreaks in the province since January 2014 to 75.
The most recent outbreak in Manitoba was on 21 January 2015 in finishers in the south-east of the province. Manitoba Pork reports this brings the provincial total to five outbreaks.
