AHDB Pork Yearbook - The Entire Pig Industry in Figures

6 July 2015, at 12:00am

UK - The entire pig industry in figures can be found in the latest issue of AHDB Pork Yearbook.

As well as key industry statistics and pig performance data, both nationally and internationally, it includes details of marketing, knowledge transfer and research and development activity carried out over the last year.

It also focuses on the field trials which are under way and looks at the work of skills development together with innovation work.

AHDB Pork director Mick Sloyan said: “The Yearbook reviews the first full year of the delivery of the technical element within the ‘Going for Growth’ strategy and the business plan for the continued delivery of the strategy in 2015-16.

“It shows the improvements that have been made across the industry, including a 15g improvement in daily live weight gain and an improvement in FCR of 0.11.

“The industry has already made great strides in productivity and the work to improve still further must continue. We are now producing more pork than at any time since 2000.

“This book shows all the work which is being done to develop the AHDB Pork mission of helping English pig production and processing businesses become more competitive and profitable.”

Copies of the Yearbook are available on the AHDB Pork website or by emailing [email protected]
