More Backyard Pigs Dead from ASF in Lithuania

LITHUANIA - Two pigs have died and 23 have been destroyed in the latest outbreaks of African Swine Fever (ASF) reported in Lithuania.

The pigs died in two separate backyard outbreaks in Trakai district municipality in Vilnius region.

The first backyard held nine pigs (a sow and eight piglets five weeks old), and the second held 16 pigs (a sow, three fattening pigs and twelve piglets seven weeks old). The outbreaks were both confirmed by PCR tests on dead animals.
