MRSA Confirmed in Rogaland Swine Herd

NORWAY - The Veterinary Institute has notified the Food Safety Authority (FSA) of the detection of MRSA in a swine herd in Rogaland.

The discovery was made in collecting samples from pigs in conjunction with the national monitoring program for MRSA in swine.

MRSA bacteria are now being analyzed and characterized.
