Pig Respiratory Research Award Application Deadline Extended to January 15
UK - The deadline for submitting proposals to the Awards for Advancing Research in Respiratory Disease (formerly PRRS Research Awards) has been extended through January 15, 2016. The awards are open to research projects related to porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS), porcine circovirus Type 2 (PCV2), Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and influenza A virus in swine (IAV-S).Practicing veterinarians and researchers seeking a Research Award can go to PRRSResearch.com to submit their proposals. All instructions and submission forms are available under ‘Download Forms.’ Three $35,000 awards will be available.
Over the last 12 years, Research Awards totaling $1 million have supported the development of less costly, additional diagnostic testing and sampling processes, identified more effective biosecurity practices, sought to better understand PRRS virus transmission and developed risk assessment tools, therapeutic intervention programs and vaccination strategies. The program is supported through funding from Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. (BIVI).
