South Africa Halts Pig Imports Following ASF Outbreaks

SOUTH AFRICA - The South African government has banned the importation of pigs into the country following outbreaks of African Swine Fever.

Director of Veterinary Services Dr Roland Dlamini commented: “We have become aware of the reported cases and took the decision to ban the importation of pigs until further notice.:

The director further advised farmers to be careful when buying pigs, reports the Observer.
