According to the latest report from ISN, the only short, four-day slaughter week has reportedly no negative impact and the ratio of small supply to small demand was until the last in balance. Declining slaughter weights are reported from different EU member states and testify to the willingness of producers to pay. All in all, the quantities offered suffice.

Thus, the German lead quotation remained at the corrected level of € 1.75/ kg. The Danish and Austrian quotations also found no change in prices. What remains is the disappointment of market participants over the weaknesses of the domestic meat market in recent weeks.

A slight increase of around 1 cent was reported from Spain, France and the Netherlands. In Spain, the seasonal price increase of the popular holiday destination and leader in the European price structure of the five largest pig-keeping EU member states continued. In France, the improvement in domestic demand is due to the long weekend, better weather and the change of the month.
