China detects new ASF case in Hubei province

China has reported a new African swine fever case in wild boar in Hubei.

According to Reuters, China’s agriculture ministry reported the new case in wild boar in Hubei province. The ministry said that seven wild boars had been found dead in the Shennonjia Forestry district in the northwest of the province, in central China.

China’s domestic pig herd has shrunk by more than 40 percent due to the ongoing ASF epidemic, but few cases have been detected in wild boar.
