China to sell more frozen pork to tame prices

China will auction another 10,000 tonnes of frozen pork from its state reserves on Friday 21 August.

According to Reuters, China’s Merchandise Reserve Management Centre made the announcement on 18 August.

China has already auctioned 500,000 tonnes of pork from its reserves this year to help to cool high prices after a severe production shortfall. The most recent auction follows a similar sell-off on 14 August.
