Germany urges Chinese government to relax import ban on German pork – Brownfield

Germany is reportedly petitioning China to reverse its blanket-ban on German pork, favouring a regionalisation approach.

All of the cases identified in Germany have been in wild boar. No domestic pigs or farm sites have been affected by ASF.

China and other Asian countries like South Korea and Japan suspended imports of pork from Germany after cases of ASF were reported in wild boar in September and October. German officials favour a regionalisation approach, where pork imports would be suspended from individual states instead of a country-wide blanket ban.
