China’s agriculture minister said that the country’s pig herd is expected to return to end-2017 levels by around June of 2021.In a news briefing, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Tang Renjian told Reuters that the worst pork shortage period had passed and that supplies will be more ample going forward.
The that the number of hogs slaughtered and supplies of pork will return to normal levels in the second half of the year.
