US pork exports grow in three key markets

Year-to-date export value increased 8% year-over-year at $6.8 billion and volume remained consistent at 5.4 billion pounds, said the National Pork Board report.

Volume and value rose in three key markets: Mexico, Colombia and the Philippines.

Volume to Mexico increased 28% to 1.6 billion pounds. Value increased 55% to $1.4 billion.

Volume to Colombia increased 59%, finishing at 182.2 million pounds. Value rose by 79% at $201.1 million.

Volume to the Philippines increased 90%, reaching 164.1 million pounds. Value increased 105% at $193.7 million.

Exports to China, however, decreased 24% in volume and 22% in value when compared with the same period last year.
