The Philippines' overall agricultural output grew at an annual pace of 0.6% by value in October-December, after four consecutive quarters of contraction, reported Reuters.

Gains were made in crops, poultry and fisheries, which offset losses in livestock due to African swine fever outbreaks, data on Wednesday showed.

Crops output, which accounted for about 60% of the overall agricultural production in the fourth quarter, rose 2.6% as paddy rice harvest increased 0.2%. Livestock production shrank 9.7%, but fisheries output grew 1.4% and poultry rose 2.7%

The government will release overall economic output for the same period on Thursday.
