United Pork Americas will be pork production connection point

United Pork Americas, April 19-21, 2022, in the United States, will become the main connection point between pork producers of North, Central and South America. This one-of-a-kind conference features an international speaker program focused on topics including alternative proteins, world food demand, new technologies and more, a trade show and an International Pork Festival. It’s one industry event you don’t want to miss.

The event will also have space for new, cutting-edge business ideas with the participation of international startups addressing the most current technologies for the swine industry.

According to the President of United Pork Americas, Flavia Roppa, the event will be a great celebration of pig farming. “It will be a moment of celebration for a sector that will move globally, in 2022, around 13 million tons of pork, according to USDA projections, an increase of more than 2% from 2021,” said Roppa.

The American continent is gaining more and more importance in the scenario for pig farming. According to consultant Osler Desouzart, who is also one of the speakers at the United Pork Americas, it will be up to the continent to guarantee exportable food surpluses to Asia that will concentrate future demand. “The United States and Brazil will lead the market because both countries generate surpluses of most grains and animal products. Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru also grow in importance,” he said. “I would also emphasize that Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay and, in due course, Bolivia, will complement them with some of the products needed to feed Asia and Africa, which will have 90% of the world's population increased by 2050. The future of exports and the world's food production is in the Americas,” says Desouzart.

Pork Festival

During the United Pork Americas there will also be an International Pork Festival, in which dishes will be served, new recipes will be presented and new perspectives will be shown on how it is prepared across the globe. “There is nothing more natural than having a Pork Festival during the United Pork Americas. It is very gratifying to hold an event that will enhance the industry of one of the main sectors in the production of animal protein,” said Flavia Roppa.
