GOOD Meat announced this week that it has broken ground on its 30,000 square–foot production centre in Singapore. It will be the largest cultivated meat facility in Asia.Once operational in early 2023 the facility will house a 6,000–litre bioreactor, which will have the capacity to produce tens of thousands of pounds of meat from cells without slaughtering a single animal, the company said. Singapore’s Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu was at there for the launch of construction.“GOOD Meat is leading the way in producing protein with alternative methods to supplement our local production," she said. "Singapore is proud to be able to play a pivotal role in creating a new and revolutionary way of growing food for our people in a sustainable way.”
