Brazil pork exports hit record revenue in June
Shipments up 28%, led by strong demand from PhilippinesBrazilian pork exports totalled 137,100 tonnes in June, according to the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). This was 28% higher than the 107,100 tonnes shipped in the same period last year. This represents the second-highest monthly volume ever recorded in the industry.
The increase in revenue was even more significant. A total of US$341.6 million was recorded in June of this year, a 45.2% increase compared to the US$235.3 million recorded in the same period last year. The June 2025 revenue is the highest ever recorded in the industry's history.
In the first half of the year, accumulated exports reached 722,000 tonnes, 17.6% higher than the 613,700 tonnes shipped between January and June 2024. In terms of revenue, exports increased to US$1.723 billion, a 32.6% increase compared to the total obtained in the same period last year, which was US$1.300 billion.
The Philippines, the main destination for pork exports in June, imported 33.8 thousand tonnes, a volume 141.1% higher than in the same period last year. Next are China, with 15.4 thousand tonnes (-6.2%), Japan, with 12.8 thousand tonnes (+27.7%), Chile, with 11.3 thousand tonnes (+55.3%), and Singapore, with 9.1 thousand tonnes (+0.1%).
Among the main exporting states, Santa Catarina led with 374.3 thousand tonnes exported in the first half of the year (+11% compared to the same period last year), followed by Rio Grande do Sul, with 158.9 thousand tonnes (+21.29%), Paraná, with 111.3 thousand tonnes (+38.81%), Mato Grosso, with 18.5 thousand tonnes (+5.46%), and Minas Gerais, with 18.4 thousand tonnes (+54.71%).
"There is an increase in demand for Brazilian pork in several markets, including high-value markets," said ABPA president Ricardo Santin. "Global market performance projects results even more positive than the production sector's expectations in January, indicating new records in volume and revenue."
