BIVI Announces Three Additions to Swine Division
US - Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc., (BIVI) adds three employees to its U.S. swine division.
Michael Steilen has joined the BIVI swine division as the brand manager for the company’s porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) vaccines. Steilen has been in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 15 years and has a strong experience in the animal health sector.
Steilen has bachelor of science degrees in biology and microbiology, as well as a master of business administration, from Iowa State University. He will be relocating to the St. Joseph, Mo., area in the near future.
Arturo Oropeza-Munoz, DVM, has joined the swine division as field research leader with the professional services veterinarian team. Oropeza-Munoz has more than 15 years of experience in swine production, working with such production companies as Iowa Select Farms, LP, and Murphy Brown LLC.
Oropeza-Munoz earned his doctorate of veterinary medicine and zootechnology from the University of Guadalajara and a master of science in veterinary diagnostic and production animal medicine from Iowa State University. Oropeza-Munoz will reside in Ames, Iowa, with his family.
Aaron Kavan has joined the company’s swine division as a sales representative serving the Kansas and Nebraska region. Kavan has extensive swine industry experience, having recently worked as a swine sales representative for Elanco Animal Health. Kavan has a bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and will reside in Lincoln, Neb.
Tim Bettington, senior associate director for the swine division, says these recent additions to the organization demonstrate BIVI’s commitment to helping producers and veterinarians find better ways to manage the devastating diseases that are affecting the swine industry.
“BIVI is dedicated to building the strongest marketing team in the swine industry,” says Bettington.
