Increased Inventory of Swine Circovirus Vaccine Reported

US - Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc., (BIVI) announces that it has an adequate supply of its Ingelvac CircoFLEX® vaccine to meet the needs of swine producers and veterinarians who want to vaccinate pigs against porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2).

Porcine circovirus associated disease (PCVAD), a devastating disease complex caused by PCV2, has rapidly spread in the last decade to become the top swine health challenge of many North American swine producers. In the past few years, demand of available vaccines has surpassed supply which has limited producers in effectively managing this disease.

Tim Bettington, senior associate director of swine marketing for BIVI, says the company’s increased manufacturing efforts, combined with its highly coordinated field sales activities, have helped increased supply of available vaccine to as many producers as possible.

“Boehringer Ingelheim, along with the entire swine health industry, has been working hard to increase the supply and availability of our circovirus vaccine to all producers across the country as quickly as possible,” Bettington explains. “These efforts have paid off. Ample supplies of Ingelvac CircoFLEX vaccine are now available to help producers and veterinarians protect their herds against this pathogen and reduce the tremendous production and economic impact of PCVAD.”

For more information on Ingelvac CircoFLEX vaccine, as well as the diagnosis and management of porcine circovirus associated disease, see your swine veterinarian or contact Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc., at 800-325-9167.
