Soybean Producers Step Up Support of Pork Exports
US - As the US pork industry continues to deal with difficult economic times, maintaining a strong level of US pork exports is considered a key to restoring profitability.
With this is mind, the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council has decided to increase its financial support for pork exports by funding specific marketing campaigns in key markets such as Japan, Mexico and South Korea.
Brian Greenslit of Franklin, Minnesota, who is in his seventh year as a director on the council and is currently serving as council treasurer, says it’s more important than ever for soybean producers to support programs that will help improve the bottom line of their largest customer - the US livestock industry.
Mr Greenslit added that promoting US meat exports is an excellent way for all sectors of US agriculture to work together toward a common goal.
