Decline in hog farm numbers continues
IOWA - Unprofitable hog prices in 2002 helped lead to the loss of 5,780 U.S. hog farms, including 500 Iowa hog farms, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Dec. 30 hogs and pigs report.
