British Pig Executive Chief Executive Mick Sloyan said: “We are looking for nominations for people who have made a difference and have dedicated themselves to the industry.
“The David Black Award is a very prestigious industry event and the list of previous winners reads like a Who’s Who of the British pig industry.“
The award will be presented at an industry breakfast in the Autumn and the winner will be selected by an independent panel.
Notes to editors: The David Black Award was inaugurated in 1960 and is presented to someone who has made an important and sustained contribution to the pig industry. Previous winners have included farmers, scientists, processors and journalists. Last year’s winner was Stewart Houston who is now BPEX Chairman.
