Cargill bids $385 mln for Farmland pork unit
CHICAGO - Agriculture conglomerate Cargill Inc. bid $385 million for the pork operations of bankrupt Farmland Industries, a move that will force the pork unit to be auctioned by mid-October, Cargill and Farmland officials said on Friday.
