US pork exports to China climb 33% in April
Four-month volumes near last year's pace
US pork exports to China reached 35,136 metric tons in April, up 33% from last year's minimal volume, while value rose 15% to $74.4 million, according to the US Meat Export Federation.
Exports to China are primarily variety meat.
Through April, shipments to China were nearly level with last year's pace at 139,915 mt, down 1%, while value was still down 13% to $297.3 million.
