Russia Curbs Slovakia's Pork Imports
RUSSIA - The Russian Ministry of Agriculture has imposed temporary restrictions on pork imports from Slovakia due to several registered classical plague cases among cattle, the Ministry's press service stated Thursday.
Such precautions were taken in a bid to stop the disease from spreading into Russia. Temporary restrictions are also applied to the imports of live pigs and raw meat products.
According to a source at the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the Russian veterinary services have lifted temporary restrictions on the import of poultry meat, eggs and other types of poultry products from Texas, USA.
