“Pork producers from across the United States and around the world come to the Pork Expo to find new ways to improve their animal production practices while maintaining a strong balance sheet,“ says Danita Rodibaugh, president of the National Pork Board and a pork producer from Rensselaer, Ind. “This year we’re also pleased to offer many events that celebrate 20 years of the Pork Checkoff.“

If you haven’t registered for a premises identification number through your state agriculture department or board of animal health, visit the Pork Checkoff’s ID Alley at the Cattle Barn. Registering is as simple as listing your business address, what kinds of livestock you have, and your contact information “It’s important to do this for the health and safety of America’s swine herd,“ says Patrick Webb, director of swine health programs for the National Pork Board.

Also, don’t miss the Pork Checkoff’s 19th annual Great Pork BarbeQlossal on June 10. The nation’s best barbeque teams are fired up for the event, which will award a record $39,000 in prizes and awards—nearly double from last year.
