Canadian Swine Producers Look for DDGS Info
CANADA - Swine producers in Canada are hungry for information on U.S. distiller's dried grains with solubles (DDGS), based on response to the U.S. Grains Council's participation in the Banff Pork Seminar in Banff, Canada."Recent changes in the U.S. grain industry and ethanol sector were among the most talked about topics at the conference," reported Adel Yusupov, USGC manager of international relations for Asia.
"There is interest in trying DDGS, particularly among swine producers in Western Canada, although price and availability is a concern for many."
To highlight the results of the Council's U.S. DDGS feeding trial conducted in Canada in 2006, the Council hosted a poster session to talk directly with interested attendees.
Yusupov and USGC Consultant Neil Campbell discussed the feeding trial and distributed DDGS handouts including a list of U.S. DDGS exporters.
