The UFU visited a Tesco store in Newtownabbey, County Antrim, where Northern Ireland pork and bacon was back on sale following the recent scare in the industry.

UFU President Graham Furey said: “The pork and bacon industry is back in business and that is a great relief to our producers. We are optimistic that the general public will continue to support our local products and purchase them for the Christmas market. We hope that the demand for traditional festive products like ham, cocktail sausages and sausage meat for stuffing will help return the industry to normal trade as quickly as possible.”
