From the producers’ point of view, the quotations tend sideways for the most part at last, stabilising on a low level this week. Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Ireland are partaking in the new stability.

In Spain and Denmark, the prices give ground another time. As a result, changes are observed in the European price structure: Spain gives up the number-one rank for the benefit of Germany; Denmark again ranks last among those six countries which are richest in pigs. For monetary reasons, the prices are being appreciated in Great Britain and Sweden.

Trend: With the supply swinging back, prices are expected to remain unchanged at least. Improving domestic demand may give further positive impulse.
