The database encompasses 585 farms and 1,175,053 females with significant participation from customers of every major swine genetic company.
SMS top 10 per cent of herds’ averaged 27.31 pw/s/y. Average all 23.30 pw/s/y. Genesus Genetics Inc. customers for the third consecutive year had the number one herd at 30.80 in 2008. Genesus Genetics supplied 8 of the top 10 SMS herds, 15 of the top SMS 20 herds.
