Danish Groups Merge to Create Single Entity
DENMARK - Danish agriculture organisations Landbrugsraadet (The Danish Agricultural Council) and Dansk Landbrug (Danish Agriculture) have agreed to merge with Danish Meat Association (DMA is a gathering of Danske Slagterier, the Danish Livestock and Meat Board and the Danish Poultry Council) this week to create a new organisation representing the industry from ‘farm to fork’.This single body would be called the Danish Agriculture and Food Council.
The three organisations will continue as separate legal and economic entities. Each will retain its own Board, responsible for directing the activities and economic framework for the Danish Meat Association.
In addition to these three organisations, the new trade body will also welcome members organisations that will continue as separate entities: Mejeriforeningen (Danish Dairy Board), Dansk Pelsdyravlerforening (Danish Fur Breeders' Association), Oekologisk Landsforening (Organic Service Centre) and Dansk Gartneri (Danish Horticulture).
