Satisfied faces at the end of a successful work meeting, from left to right: Dirk Böckmann (product management Big Dutchman), Paul H. Liumes, Ph.D. (University of Guelph), Phil McEwen (University of Guelph), Greg Simpson, MSc (Ontario Ministry of Agriculture), Magnus Westerkamp (managing director Big Dutchman Pig Equipment GmbH).

This has once again been confirmed by the recent visit of three experts from Ontario to the premises of the world market leader in Calveslage, Germany. The Canadians, two scientists of the University of Guelph in Ridgetown and a representative of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture based in Elora are currently on a tour through Europe to gain more information about the latest approaches in regard to feeding technology and pig nutrition. One stop of the tour was the three-day work visit at Big Dutchman.

The Canadian visitors were especially interested in liquid feeding systems for modern pig production. Therefore the main focus of the work visit was set on the variety of liquid feeding systems available from Big Dutchman which are successfully in use in many parts of the world.

“I am quite positive that we were able bring a lot of information across. But our specialists, as well, have certainly profited from the intensive expert talks. The whole work meeting was a well-rounded affair“ comments Magnus Westerkamp, managing director of Big Dutchman Pig Equipment GmbH, on the successful visit.
