January's Assignment for 'Virtual Walk the Pens'

US - This month's new assignment for Pfizer Animal Health's 'Virtual Walk the Pens' simulator has just been released. In this eighth scenario, the virtual co-worker has concerns over the latest batch of in-coming pigs. Players must must find out why!

When these pigs arrived, they looked fabulous – average weights were 15 pounds for the group – but something is going on now that makes us worried. The last care-giver has reported that big pigs with good body condition look fine one day and then the next, they start to lose flesh. They seem to be eating OK.

The game-setter at Pfizer asks that you to take a look at these pigs and figure out what is going wrong with these previously healthy pigs. Please report what you see to the veterinarian and take appropriate action. As a veterinarian, there is a concern that, if no action is taken quickly in this barn, a lot of pigs with a ton of potential will be lost.

Playing the 'Virtual Walk the Pens' game

Remember you are competing against other players around the nation for each scenario. There is a competition to see who gets the best scores on this scenario and a competition to see who will get the best score over all scenarios. So come back next month to see what your next assignment will be and add more net profit (or loss) to your overall score based on your actions in the barn. What you do each day in the barn makes a difference.

In this scenario, helpful information from a virtual co-worker will be essential in determining the problem. The virtual veterinarian is still on hand for advice, and players can retry the scenario as many times as needed to improve their score.

The simulator is an online educational tool that can be played from any standard computer and is intended to help demonstrate the importance of Individual Pig Care.

If you want to set up a system competition, contact your Pfizer Sales Representative or Ken Haas ([email protected]).
