Leman Science in Practice Award Winner Announced
US - Paul Yeske, DVM, of St. Peter, Minnesota, will be honored with the Allen D. Leman Science in Practice Award from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and Pfizer Animal Health.Dr Yeske is being honored for his outstanding contributions to the
creation and dissemination of new knowledge for the betterment of the
swine industry.
Established by the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary
Medicine and Pfizer Animal Health in 1994, this award is recognised as
one of the most prestigious in the swine industry; it honors individuals
whose achievements contribute significantly to the body of knowledge
related to swine health and management. The award is presented annually
at the Allen D. Leman Swine Conference, an international, multi-session
scientific conference where nearly 1,000 leaders in the world-wide swine
industry meet to present new information and research, and discuss
current and future issues facing the industry. This year the conference
will take place at the River Centre in Downtown St. Paul from 18-21 September.
Dr Yeske holds a Master of Science in Swine Medicine from the University
of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. He earned his Doctorate of
Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University. Dr Yeske has also
completed the Executive Veterinary Program from the University of
Illinois.
Dr Yeske remains vitally active in the field of swine health
management, with a particular focus on disease control and eradication
research. He publishes in numerous journals and is a sought after
speaker at veterinary conferences and producers meetings. He maintains
a busy practice at the Swine Vet Center, P.A in St. Peter Minnesota and
continues to be enthusiastically engaged as part of the PRRS Eradication
Task Force and Production Animal Disease Risk Assessment Program
Committee for the American Association of Swine Practioners (AASP).
