PureTek is US service, sales and marketing arm for the owners including Whiteshire Hamroc LLC, Waldo Farms Genetics Inc., Tempel Genetics Inc., Cedar Ridge Farms Inc., Shaffer Superior Genetics Inc., and Northern Genetic Management LLC.

The partnering companies are responsible for 98 per cent of purebred breeding stock exported from the US according to the National Swine Registry. The individual source farms comprising the PureTek system currently have 5,000 nucleus level sows producing Maternal and Terminal lines and an additional 7,000 Grandparent (GP) females in multiplication.

The coordination of successful genetic programmes within each member nucleus has established PureTek as a leader in balancing sustained lifetime Maternal and Terminal performance with exceptional post-weaning performance and carcass quality.

Commercial maternal products offered by PureTek will include Grandparent and Parent female lines with high prolificacy and excellent mothering ability, F1 females, hybrid Parent lines as well as Grandparent Yorkshire and Landrace boars. Terminal boars from Duroc, Duroc hybrid lines, and crossbred terminal lines are being produced as well. Maternal and terminal semen is available through an extensive AI network.

The PureTek genetic programme effectively balances the science and art of animal breeding. PureTek utilizes a system-wide data interface combined with BLUP technology to optimize genetic improvement strategy. Further use of commercial level testing protocols and DNA marker technology allows PureTek to engineer high-impact genetic lines.
