Total Feed Production 11 Per Cent Higher
UK - According to GB Animal Feed Statistical Notice for June 2010, total retail feed production in Great Britain was 10.7 per cent higher than in June 2009.Among the highlights of the latest Defra notice are that in June 2010, the total retail production of animal feed in Great Britain was up 10.7 per cent compared with June 2009, whilst 10.6 per cent more raw materials were used for feed.
Total integrated feed production was 1.6 per cent higher in June 2010 than the same month of the previous year.
For the period January to March 2010 – the latest statistics available – quarterly average prices of animal feedingstuffs were the following (per tonne): cattle and calf feed, £181; pig feed, £210 and poultry feed, £209.
