Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health Sponsors APVS
THAILAND - Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health is a diamond sponsor of the APVS 2011 and is honoured to be able to contribute in this way to the development of the Asian swine industry.Intervet/Schering-Plough's sponsorship is not confined solely to the funding of the event, the company will also take an active stand on the scientific front, submitting high quality abstracts, including in-depth information about the company's products.
Intervet/Schering-Plough will not only be present with a stand at the Congress offering opportunity to exchange information in an informal setting, but will also host a satellite symposium, in conjunction with the APVS 2011, which will be open to all Congress delegates.
The Intervet/Schering-Plough Satellite Symposium will be held at the Congress venue on 7 March, immediately following the regular APVS 2011 programme. It will focus on the PCV2 virus, widely regarded as one of the most significant swine pathogens worldwide, but which can be very effectively controlled by the use, for example, of the company's vaccines Circumvent® PCV and Porcilis® PCV.
Speakers from Canada, Brazil and South Korea will cover different aspects of the virus important to understand PVC2-associated disease and, crucially, how the economic damage caused by the virus can be prevented. The symposium will also address the fact that the various vaccines have different efficacy profiles and delegates can discover how to provide optimal protection against PCV2 virus infection and optimise the reduction of the severe economic damage caused by PCV2 virus.
Please contact Alex Eggen [email protected] or your Intervet/Schering-Plough representative for more details of the programme.
