Lithuania Reports One New CSF Outbreak

LITHUANIA - The Lithuanian veterinary authorities have reported one new outbreak of classical swine fever in Kaunas.

The World Organisation for Animal Health received follow-up report no.2 on Tuesday, 5 July. The affected population consists of 754 piglets, 173 breeding pigs and 1,118 fattening pigs.

A total of 2045 animals were found susceptible to the outbreak, wherein a 100 per cent apparent morbidity rate was observed. No deaths were recorded, and no animals were destroyed.

The source of the outbreak has still not been identified.
