The project will allow producers to learn about swine nutrition, develop business management skills and enhance understanding of the impact of feed and nutrition on the cost of production, in a self directed e-learning format.

The ten modules have been developed by University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus Professor, Paul Luimes along with OMAFRA Swine Nutritionist, Greg Simpson. Each module will include a quiz component to allow the user to self-assess their knowledge after completion of each module.

After working through all modules, the participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from the Ontario Pork Industry Council and they will then qualify for participation in a Diet Formulation training session expected to be available in the fall of 2011.

Made possible with funding from the Agricultural Management Institute (AMI), the Swine Nutrition e-Learning course is now available and participants can register for the free e-training by clicking here.
