Classical Swine Fever Outbreak Reported in Russia

RUSSIA - The Russian veterinary authorities have reported an outbreak of classical swine fever in Bryanskaya Oblast.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 14 yesterday, 20 February. The affected population comprises wild boar.

A total of 35 animals were found susceptible to the disease, out of which 5 cases were reported. Three deaths were reported, and two of the affected animals were destroyed.

The source of the outbreak remains inconclusive.
