Russia Reports Two ASF Outbreaks
RUSSIA - The country's veterinary authorities have reported two further outbreaks of African swine fever in the Republic of Karelia and in Volgograd Oblast.The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received Follow-up Report No. 80 yesterday, 15 March.
A total of 20 pigs were found susceptible, out of which 20 cases were reported. 10 deaths were reported, and the remaining 10 pigs were destroyed.
The source of the outbreak remains inconclusive.
Several measures have been applied to contain the situation.
