African Swine Fever Affects Wild Species

RUSSIA - The Russian veterinary authorities have reported an outbreak of African swine fever in Novgorodskaya Oblast.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received Follow-up Report No. 84 on 14 May.

Out of 97 susceptible animals, 16 cases and 5 deaths were identified. 11 animals were destroyed.

The source of the outbreak is still unknown. Several measures have been applied to contain the situation.
