Six ASF Outbreaks Reported in Russia
RUSSIA - The Russian veterinary authorities have reported six new outbreaks of African swine fever in Tverskaya oblast.The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received Follow-up Report No. 88 on 12 July 2012. The affected populations comprise wild pig species and swine.
Out of four cases in wild species, two showed signs of susceptibility and one death was reported. Two were destroyed.
Out of 43 susceptible pigs, 4 cases were reported. Three deaths were observed and 40 animals were destroyed.
The source of the outbreaks remains inconclusive.
