The company, which was awarded its Royal Warrant in 1955, two years after the Coronation, will be highlighting its relationship with the British pig industry through its largest customer BQP.

John Cessford, Marketing Manager at BOCM PAULS, said the event was a good opportunity to demonstrate the supply chain from "field to fork", and showcase the strengths of the pig industry in the UK.

"We are grateful for this kind invitation and for the opportunity to show how the pig supply chain works, and the successful contribution of all the companies and individuals involved," he said.

"The supply chain we are involved in promotes UK sourced raw materials, manufacturing and higher welfare outdoor bred, straw based finished pigs to produce high quality pork products for Waitrose, a significant supporter of the British pig industry," he said.

BQP is the farming division of Dalehead Foods, and works with 250 UK farmers who are all dedicated producers for Waitrose. 100 per cent of sows and pigs up to weaning are kept outdoors, with 22 per cent by volume produced as free range meat and 3.5 per cent as organic. Dalehead Foods provides a range of over 300 pork-based products to Waitrose covering pork, bacon, sausage and cooked meats.

"We have been working with BQP for seven years now supplying raw materials for their Waitrose dedicated pigs, and it is a partnership we are extremely proud of," said Mr Cessford.

Andrew Saunders, Agricultural Director at BQP, said the combination of farmers (BQP), feed manufacturer (BOCM PAULS), processor (Dalehead Foods) and retailer (Waitrose) is unique in the manner in which all parties collaborate to produce high quality pigmeat products for the British consumer.

The Festival will be open to members of the public from Friday, 12 July, to Sunday, 14 July. There will be a Royal Preview on Thursday, 11 July, for invited guests, including Members of the Royal Family, charities, patronages, media, armed forces, inward investors and overseas trade missions, and guests of the Royal Warrant Holders Association and the Royal Household.
