TAIWAN - Taiwan is reporting a sharp decline in February in the number of pigs reportedly dying from Porcine Epidemic Diarrhoea (PED).

On 7 March, according to the University of California Davis, Taiwan's central news agency reported statistics from the Council of Agriculture that the number of piglet deaths on the island from PED is declining.

In February, the number was 46,000, following January's more than 70,000. The approximate 30 per cent reduction gives indication that they epidemic is slowing down, according to the source.
