Thirteen New Outbreaks of African Swine Fever in Lativa

LATVIA - A total of 13 new outbreaks of African Swine Fever (ASF) have been detected in the Kraslava, Dagda, Valka, Madona and Ludza regions of the country.

ASF was reported in both swine and wild boar, resulting in 30 cases, (19 swine, 11 wild boar), 24 deaths (16 swine, eight wild boar) and the destruction of 194 animals (191 swine, three wild boar).

ASF has now reached the north and the majority of the eastern part of the country.

The source of the outbreak remains unknown.
