Provincial Veterinarian Eric Perez said the project dubbed as “Multiplier Production Farm for Native Pigs” intends to develop the production of native pigs by providing the needed stock and technical assistance to the province's identified production farms and stations.

“In order to meet the requirement of the growing market, we need to have a province-wide production of the native pig,” Perez said during the regular session on Monday.

In a press release by the Provincial Information Office, Governor Amado Espino, Jr. and the officials of the agriculture department sealed an agreement on Wednesday at the Provincial Training and Development Center (PTDC) in this town.

During the signing of agreement, a P4 million-worth of loan assistance from DA was turned-over to the provincial government to support the project.

Perez said the provincial government shall assist the agriculture department in collecting loan payments from the project beneficiary under the roll-over scheme in order to accommodate many members.

Project beneficiary include Arnedo Livestick Raisers Association in Brgy. Arnerdo in Bolinao town; Bugallon Federation of Free Farmers in Bugallon; Luyan Farmers Association in Mapandan; Pogo-Palua-Salaan Livestock Raisers Association in Asingan; and Asingan Native Pig Raisers Association.
