Sipko Schat, aged 54, former director of Rabobank, and Cees van Rijn, aged 67, former CFO Nutreco, joined the Board on 1 October as respectively Chairman and member supervising finances.

Vion’s Supervisory Board is now at full strength.

Hans Huijbers, chairman of the Supervisory Board of Vion, has resigned as chairman, but will continue as vice-chairman.

Mr Huijbers said he took the decision to allow him to spend more time on the further development of ZLTO (the Dutch Southern Agricultural and Horticultural organisation and sole shareholder of Vion) and his LTO Sustainability portfolio.

Michiel Herkemij, CEO Vion Food, said: "We are very grateful for Hans Huijbers' chairmanship in recent years, and appreciate his decision to stay on as vice-chairman. The Executive Board of Vion is also very pleased with the appointments of Sipko Schat and Cees van Rijn, who will fully use their financial expertise for Vion's benefit.

“Sipko's background in banking, with a tremendous experience in the agrarian sector, and Cees's long years of experience in the food sector, are extremely relevant to Vion. The appointment of both seamlessly fits within the new strategy which was announced this summer."

The full Supervisory Board is Sipko Schat (chairman), Hans Huijbers (vice-chairman), Toon van Hoof, Ton van der Laan, Tom Heidman, Ronald Lotgerink and Cees van Rijn.
